course outline

The diverse study programme aims to produce graduates who will possess the abilities, skills and versatility that will enable them to meet a wide variety of professional challenges and career options within the dance/acting/performing field. Throughout the training programme, technique classes are arranged so that students of the same ability may study together even if in a different year group. Male students have separate classes. Within the training programme students have the opportunity to be prepared for the following examinations: Royal Academy of Dancing, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (Optional).

Students are assessed each term and are graded on each aspect of the course. Report day occurs at the end of each term and this is seen as an important element in the monitoring of students progress, their development and level of motivation throughout the year. It also provides ‘contact time’ to discuss and reinforce specific areas of development or any concerns that students may have in relation to that particular subject. Each year group has its own head tutor – thereby enabling them to discuss any worries or personal problems.
